Your account
Change your own name, phone and photo, choose which notifications reach you by email, and set up passkeys and two-factor sign-in.
Your account holds the settings that belong to you rather than to the company: your name and photo, whether the left navigation shows, which notifications also reach you by email, and how you sign in. Open it from the menu under your picture at the top of the screen, Account Settings. The left sidebar lists Notifications, Profile and Security.
How to change your name, phone or photo when they are wrong
- Open Account Settings → Profile.
- Change your First Name, Last Name, Phone or About. Your Email is shown but cannot be changed here.
- Click Save.
To add a photo, click Upload under the picture and choose an image of up to 10 MB. Once a photo is set, the button reads Change, and Remove clears it. The photo saves as soon as it is uploaded; it does not wait for Save.
What you change here is yours everywhere: if you work for more than one company in AimRack, each of them sees the same name, phone and photo.
How to show or hide the left navigation when you want more room
Every account starts with the left navigation hidden. On Profile, under Navigation, turn Hide navigation off to bring it back, or on to hide it again. The change takes effect at once, with no reload, and follows you to every company and every device you sign in on.
With the navigation hidden, every area is still reached from the app menu and the search at the top of the screen.
How to choose your notifications when you get too many emails
- Open Account Settings → Notifications.
- Each line is a topic: Approvals, Jobs, Sales, Quotes, Purchasing, Inventory, Quality, Maintenance, Training, Suggestions and General.
- Turn the Email switch off for a topic you do not want in your inbox. Each switch saves the moment you flip it.
Notifications inside AimRack are always delivered, whatever these switches say; the switches only decide which topics also reach you by email. Every topic starts switched on.
How to sign in with a passkey when you want to skip the email link
A passkey lets you sign in with Face ID, Touch ID or your device PIN instead of waiting for the sign-in link by email. The Passkeys section appears on Security only when passkey sign-in is turned on for AimRack.
- Open Account Settings → Security.
- Click Add Passkey and follow your device's prompt.
- The passkey appears in the list with the date it was Added, when it was Last used, and Synced when your device keeps a copy in its cloud account.
Click a passkey to rename it: enter a Passkey name under Edit Passkey and click Save. To remove one, click its delete button and confirm with Delete; that device can then no longer sign you in with it.
How to protect your sign-in with a code when you want two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication asks for a six-digit code from an authenticator app every time you sign in.
- Open Account Settings → Security and click Add Authenticator App.
- Scan the code shown under Set up two-factor authentication with an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or 1Password. If you cannot scan it, copy the secret shown under it into the app instead.
- Enter the six-digit code the app shows and click Verify.
The app then appears in the list with the date it was Added. To stop using it, click its remove button, enter a current code from the app, and click Remove. If you lost the phone that holds the app, ask someone who manages accounts to use Reset Two-Factor Auth in Users.
Where this fits
- The company's own settings, including whether two-factor sign-in is required for everyone: Settings.
- Other people's accounts, permissions and two-factor resets: Users.
- Your staff record, job and time cards, as the office sees them: A person's record.
